Unlock VC (formerly known as WVC:E) is an award-winning global platform and community dedicated to empowering women in venture capital. With a network of over 1,000 members—including GPs, LPs, VC investors, and angel investors—Unlock VC is redefining success in the industry.
How it started
Co-founded in 2022 by Sophie Winwood and Ruth Foxe Blader, unlock VC was born out of a shared frustration with the stark underrepresentation of women in venture capital—and an equally strong belief in the potential of the industry, and tech as a whole, when this changes. What started as a side project quickly became a movement, uniting women across the VC to connect, learn and grow.
